Looks quite interesting. Definitely need more western animation that's not afraid to shy away from the kids.

Wow, that looks incredibly different. I wonder what kind of rating it will get in the states? If one at all...
The plot makes it sound incredibly violent...

It'll go right onto DVD in the US, I should wonder.

On a similar note, Tideland still appears to be without US distribution. Why????

apart from the different subject matter, and that i really support adult animation that ISNT anime, it didn't really grab me.

I really want to see it though

I'm really excited about this, it was supposed to premiere at Cannes - anyone know if it did? I don't think so as I can't find it on the Cannes official site. It's disappointing a film like this might struggle for it's deserved audience - judging from the trailer at least.

yeah, WTF?

check out http://www.indiewire.com/cannes/ for distribution deals, or do what I had to do and Google "Cannes 2006" and whatever particular movie your looking for info on.

It certainly looks intense. The review makes it sound promising; perhaps
too obvious, though? Too easy a target? Hard Candy kind of fell
into that, but was a tense and effective, multi-tiered revenge narrative
thriller (with sociological crtique) nonetheless...

Well if a mini meet up is on the cards....

What time would be best?

I might post this in the Zoner meet up thread too, to avoid thread jacking too much.
