Anime, cartoons and 3D. Animated shorts and features. And don't forget the animation genius in Bulgaria.

Yeah it wasn't bad as these things go, though even then my mental process was- break down each element, none of these elements make sense, ah well at least it's not Street Sharks.

I remember Poochie oh-too-well. Came out around the same time as Rainbow Brite and My Little Pony. The adverts used to have a fairly brainwashing little song too - something along the lines of "Poochie! Oh Poochie!" and some fresh faced girl saying "I love you Poochie".

Oh the shame.

Picture approximately 80 miniature, finely detailed creature heads snapping to look in your direction, tiny ears pricked and tiny sharp incisors bared.

I only said Poochie... not strawberry shortcake or my little pony. That was time for Gummy Bears and there's red juice addiction back home. Did anyone who liked Gummy Bears try and make gummy berry juice when they were little (or even last week??)?

I was undergoing treatment for it last year, but I'm happy to say that I'm back to bouncing here and there and everywhere. HIGH adventure that's beyond compare!

On the topic of Disney toons, I did NOT approve of "Goof Troop." The presence of Goofy's son, Max, implies to suggest that at some point along the line, Goofy has had sex. This is a position I strenuously refrain from taking.

Maybe Max is just Goofy's stepson?
He met a woman with a baby, they fell in love with each other, Goofy killed her accidently, adopted the Baby and never told Max about this.

And I like Goof Troop.

But does anybody know the movie "Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw"?
Hell, I loved it as a kid! I saw it in theatre, I got the video and watched it almost every fucking day and even sang the songs!
But now I feel a little bit ashamed of this poorly made film

I have to agree with Buster on the Goofy having sex bit... ewwww..... he's one guy that could actually say 'I slipped and fell on her...'

Disney shows again... I enjoyed Aladdin the series. Mechanicles was a great villan.... the genie voice did earth worm jim series at the time as well... and a shit load of other stuff (Dan Castellaneta, the guy who does Homer I think).

Ahhh.... earth worm Jim... now that was class.

Oh, and Freakazoid.... anyone remember that Speilburg classic? It came out a little bit before Animaniacs.

Spielberg should stick to producing cartoonshows.
And wasn't Freakazoid an Animaniacs Spin off?

I think that Animaniacs was first but it wasn't a spin off. Speilburg did have the characters go into each others shows a lot but it was the same production team. I just pulled the below off of Wiki....

Invisibo, an invisible, smartmouthed pharaoh who is only visible via the staff he carries. Freakazoid gave Invisibo his name because "you're invisible and it's my show". When Invisibo protested his name, Freakazoid said "But the trading cards already say Invisibo!" At this point, Invisibo accepted his name and laughed maniacally. An "Invisibo theme song" was sung throughout much of the episode. It consisted mainly of the following lines:
"Where did he go, that Invisibo!"

At least Freakazoid found it catchy.

Ahhh.... such mad characters. Such a funny show.

I remember having to watch my niece back in 85 or so and having to watch My Little Pony with her TEN TIMES on vhs.

Terrible, this madness......... Took me a week and a half to get that damn theme song out of my head...... UGH

Other terrible 80s memories:

The Smurfs: Please tell me I wasn't the only one rooting for Gargamel. And I shudder to think what the two female smurfs went thru being the only females of that species in existence.

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors: How can you have a show with such cool vehicles like a giant saw blade and not cut someone in half? Oh yeah, the censors. Bastards.

The Gobots: This always has, always will, SUCK the big red rocket. How can you have a leader who's a jet not destroy a bad guy who's a motorcycle? Cy-Kill would've been crushed under Megatron's foot in a microsecond.

Exo-Squad: Lame attempt to make a mech type cartoon, featuring people piloting what looked like Ripley's robot suit from Aliens, only with bad voice acting and shitty action sequences.

Bravestar: Another shame from the brain trust at Filmation, who otherwise gave us decent stuff, if not very animated. The talking horse made my head hurt.

Terrible thing growing up to be a cynical bastard, but at least I'm good at it.

Seem to remember playing with the Bravestar action figures while at a friends house when I was young. Couldn't the horse, which was semimetal or something, stand up and turn his arm/leg into a bazooka or some other crazy shit?
And then there was that studly sheriff with the whip. I remember, me and my friends used to call this studly kid on the street the same name as that sheriff. Kids can be so cruel.

I'm looking at the cast on imdb, and I'm not getting any villain names. But Tex Hex sounds right. I'm not an expert on this and could be mistaken. Might there be any other filmation buffs out there who could help w/this?

Let me see what I can dredge up from the primordial ooze of my childhood..

Star Trek TAS: D/L the eps from usenet, they held up rather well. Once I get the cash, I'll spring for the DVD's

Planet Of the Apes: I think this was on CBS. I was a HUGE fan of the POTA movies, channel 7 in NYC used to have the 4:30 movie and had entire Ape weeks. What was odd was that the cartoon was not like the movies. For fucksakes, they piloted airplanes! I d/l the eps somewhere, now I have to dig them up

He Man: What the fuck was I thinking when I watched this? Never watched it again after it's initial release. Didn't it have some sort of moral message at the end like "You know Orco, never accept a -5 sword of backbiting from strangers"

Rocky and Bullwinkle: Any cartoon where you can get te double meaning of some of their oneliners when you are older is tops in my books.

If there was a non animated catagory, I'd put in Shazam/ Isis power hour
"Where's you're God noooooow???!!"

Don't you be talking shit about Bananaman.

Dr. Snuggles. Now there was some fucked up shit. I remember watching it as a kid, back when Nickelodeon was cool. What I remember has me convinced that I wasn't high enough to watch it - much like most of today's children's programming.

Has anyone ever laid eyes upon Go-Bots Vs. The Rock Lords? I remember Siskel and Ebert thrashing it on the show but it never played near me nor have I seen it anywhere on video. Or the She-Ra movie for that matter.

Has anyone brought up Fables of The Green Forest? I'm sure I'd stab someone with an icepick if saw that thing now.

When I was little, I used to bug out on "The Kroft SuperShow." That was a live-action Saturday morning anthology series from the always wasted Kroft Brothers.

If you remember that show, than you still have a hard-on for Deidre Hall as Electra Woman.

But yeah, I'd hate to try to sit through it today.
