Sorry, thought the size would be OK with everybody but evidently it was not. I resized it.

Yeah. The first one did not orginally air on FOX but was on the DVD and showed up on Adult Swim.

Whoa. Either Nick's gone in and done a little editing to the first post or "Guest" has some freaky powers of clairvoyance!

The first post was a left-over from when everything posted on the main site showed up as a thread on The Zone and really had no content. That being said, the folks on the main site do have insider information sometimes :)

It think it could've worked as a one-off. Or perhaps some short webisodes. As it is, the concept doesn't hold for a whole episode....and not a whole series.

It is on the web already

They went all out in making that site too. Check the source code out :)

America seems to disagree

Personally I like it. Then again I'm the guy who went to Family Guy Live then submitted a 'spy report' to AICN

Although in the talkbacks somebody claimed I asked a question about the South Park episode slamming them after the cast had already answered it, which is BS because I was the first one to ask the question.

Doesn't that report suggest that America agrees? (by not watching, hence the drop in ratings)

Pilots have done very well in the past and immediately dropped off after people watched the first episode and thought it sucked. The Cleveland Show is dropping but it isn't freefalling and it seems like less people in general were watching TV Sunday night.

Huh? Those numbers are going in the wrong direction... they may not be "free falling", but three episodes in and each getting worse suggests to me that I AM RIGHT!!! BWAHAHAHHAHA!!!!

But Family Guy comes in for some criticism from all quarters, yet it's not currently in danger of being cancelled (again) and it's DVD sales are fairly meaty.

It's probably the reason they have American Dad still on too.

(And from what I've been reading, Fox have extended the episode runs through to 2011)

Family Guy + Dwayne Johnson = WIN!

Leia/Lois (as Han is being lowered into the carbon freezing chamber) - "I love you."

Han/Peter -.........(I'm not spoiling it, but I think I laughed the loudest at this one)

And I love the 1st person shot of Quagmire ramming Lois in the ass with his shopping cart. And what's sticking out the front? A huge sausage.

Oh, and the Family Guy take on Empire is quite hilarious. Better than the first one. I love the elephant bit at the very beginning.

The latest American Dad!, titled 'Bully For Steve' - was fantastic.... so many different jokes going on at once it was hard to stop laughing!

The highlights were werewolfs, 'thats what your mom said', and of course... Stelio Cantos.

IMO American Dad has surpassed Family Guy.

Watched some of the Cleveland show. Not a HUGE fan, but I'll be honest, the relationship between the little black kid and the old Jewish guy was some of the better character moments in all of the Family Guy/American Dad/Cleveland universe.

I think Bob's is just like a six episode mid season thing. Cleavland will probably alternate with American Dad (the best of the three Mcfarlane shows) once it's done, the schedual will probably go back to normal

It'll be interesting to see if there's any reaction on the main page. Harry is not normally one to let an appearance, even in parody, go unannounced. Perhaps he didn't know?

That's what I've been wondering, I'm guessing he didn't or he'd be pimping the hell out of it. I'm also curious what Smith's reaction will be, as he and McFarland have had kind of a feud going since the days of Clerks:TAS

Ok, I'm probably in the vast minority here, but I still occasionally watch Family Guy. The cutaways sometimes still make me laugh in the same way that robot chicken appeals to my 45 second attention span.

So last night, with no advance notice or drama that I saw...they killed off Brian. And added Paulie Walnuts as a new dog. I'll admit, for the first time...maybe ever...i actually paid more than passing attention to the episode. I was expecting Stewie to figure out how to get back in time during the second half of the ep...and then the last 5 minutes...and then just before the credits....and nothing.

I thought the whole thing could be an elaborate dig at the Simpsons and their much publicized "we're going to kill off a major character....some time in the next 10 years..." story from a few months back. Particularly as the new dog is described by the FG staff as a "pooch with an attitude" (Poochie anyone?). But I may actually make a point of tuning in next week to see what happens. Or, more likely I'll forget about it by then.

Anyone see it? Anyone care at this point?

I haven't watched FG regularly in a while. I don't not like the show anymore, but rather having kids means I can't watch it live, so many other shows occupy space on my DVR, and I don't have the time to find it online and watch it. But I know it exists out there for me to watch someday.... and I will. And I mistakenly thought I could just step back in at any given moment and watch it again.

Love the show or hate it.... say it's gone on too long or could go on forever.... but if they don't "correct" this somehow, this will be the official jumping of the shark moment.

I tend to agree. Part of me thinks that this must be Seth and crew just fucking with their audience a little and it wont take. But if it does, it really is abandonment of even any pretense of a narrative in the show. Brian became a pseudo-intellectual douche, but he was also the most "human" character on the show and those few episodes that do have a true narrative instead of just a series of cutaway gags are typically run through him (or through him and Stewie together). I don't see Paulie Walnuts filling that role.

I read an article yesterday (and posted it somewhere in here, in the wrong thread  ) that alluded to the decision to kill Brian as a way of causing enough controversial reaction from fans to kill the show. In other words, Seth basically doing this so he can put an end to a show that he feels is over anyway. The article had him quoted as saying that any TV series shouldn't go past 7 years or something like that, and he wondered what it would take to get the audience to stop watching.

Or I dreamed that whole article and just made that shit up....

Having watched the original death clip online, I DVR'd the episode last night and watched it. Just had to see how it resolved. They had the replacement dog in the opening sequence - obviously meant to piss off fans right from the beginning. But man.... what a grating character, which it's meant to be. I'd actually bet that in the right situation, Tony Sirico's voice/shtick would be hilarious.... just not here.

Seth MacFarlane's Twitter from last night:
