I think that's my main problem with it. To me, the series could have easily concluded after the last few lines in the second film where it essentially explains the synopsis for Part 3. They receive a transmission from the Doc; he's happy and content with his new mistress in the Old West. Fine. Just leave it at that. lol. But of course, we all know how part 3 concludes. It's kind of irrelevant to me, if you want my honest opinion, but that's just how I am. I need to see the entire trilogy again, though.

ok man!!

i think part 2 was a bit shit - part 1 was ground breaking - and three was the best - but we're all entitled to our own shit man!

3 is the worst. It's overhyped so much. Ooooh look at me everyone I'm a Western - FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!

2 is underrated. It probably is the most intense in terms of dealing with the issues and the hows and whuy's of time travel and gives you the most to think about regarding this. I don't mind it being darker and not having the charm and warmth of the first one. I know it's not as great but it's still a cool film.

1 will always be the best in my mind. Just the right balance of complexity about time travel and has so much magic, personality and is endlessly enjoyable. The characters are people that you wanna hang out with and it I get a lot more emotion out of it. No wonder it has such a special impact on me, as it was practically half directed by Steven Spielberg in his interfering role as producer in those days.

the first is by far the best
but three is also very good
two is ok by comparison (in terms of a sci fi comedy it's on par with, say, 'My Science Project' but much better effects) - so much of two depends on the other films that it doesn't stand on it's own as much.

Ah man. Christopher Reeve... what a fucking dude, and fuck off if you think otherwise quite frankly.

Re on-topic:

1's the most fun... 2's the best film... 3's the best movie because we get Michael J. Fox's shit-tastic Irish accent.

Part 2.

For me, it was one of the first films i ever saw in the theaters (the very first gose to Who Framed Roger Rabbit)

Theres just so much in it. It works well as a self contained movie, but you also have the set up for pt. 3 which is great.

Pluse you got the Future!

YOU GOT HOVERBOARDS!

thats not to say that pt 1 and 3 arnt great either.

There's something hilarious about how inbred the McFly family is considering Marty's Western relatives look exactly the same as him and his Mother.

One has Crispin Glover - he's no Heath ledger but he is great as George McFly - 2 has some half-arse look a like.

3 is good, but the first is still my favorite. It's so classic. Two I only watch when I'm watching all of them.

I loved that Marty went back in time and almost became his own father

and later in Futurama, Fry went back in time and became his own grandfather

I'll go back in time and introduce virulent disease into your family tree, so your present self will be syphilitic and insane....er :D

I completely agree.

The only problem is that they've already gone to the past and the future.

Maybe an H.G. Wellian story would do:

McFly brings fire to the Neanderthals.

Back to the Fututre 4: The Search for Fire

or

Back to the Future 4: Prometheus

No McFly should not even be in it except for like a few minutes in a cameo. It should be Doc Brown doing a Jewels Vern Era type thing. It should totally take off in a new direction.

Back to the future 4 was made, it went straight to video, Marty went back in time and prevented it happening. Don't you remember?
