I fucking can't wait for this! One of my fave eras and done in a way that... of fuck where did this come from!

Half of it is "normal" but stylish and well shot. The other half is like a fucked up acid trip! PErfct - not too much of either!

Don't like the characters that much, I think that's the problem here. They all seem a bit too good looking, arrogant, too cool, too sophisticated even, too 'Hollyoaksish', not sympathetic enough for me. I couldn't give a fark if they lived or died to tell the truth, and for a movie about the 60s revolution in America, that is the first time I have felt this way, when normally it is the opposite.

But heh, don't bite MY head off, it's just one man's opinion.

Look - its like this, a trailer should sell the movie and give you an insight into what to expect. You shouldn't need to have to go and research the director, or have attended art or film school before making a "first impressions" comment on the film.

Now if the majority of (informed, in our case) people are drawing the wrong conclusions, then obviously it is whoever is responsible for cutting the trailer together who is at fault. Maybe even the director herself.

The director is clearly a favourite of yours though, and as always your enthusiasm is admirable. Still a DVD rental for me - but hey, Boba, if it weren't for you I probably wouldn't have watched it all.

I agree with Hollyoaks, Baz Luhrmann, the hatred against the Beatles covers, but I also think it could be a good film. (Besides, Boba, something reminding someone of Luhrmann can only be a good thing!! Twat ) - nothing I'm going crazy over, but it could be alright I s'pose. The warped shit at the end of the trailer could be interesting.

Don't like the 'perfect teeth'-line though.

They actually have a movie poster up at the theatre I go to. Says it's coming out in Fall. Honestly, it's been so long since I've seen the trailer that I assumed it came out for like a week in indie theatres and was already well on it's way to DVD. Therefore, I was pleasantly suprised.

I just saw this movie... I thought it had great potential when I watched the trailer, but as I walked to my car from the movie, I felt cheated. I felt as if I had paid $9.00 to support some guy's drug trip memories. I am not against him for having memories of those days, but if you are going to present me with a movie that appears to stand next to Rent or Wicked, FREAKIN' DELIVER or don't waste my time.

Worst movie maybe of all time. How did they manage to turn some of the greatest songs ever- the fucking Beatles!- into monotonous emo monstrocities?? They all ended up sounding the fucking same! I wanted to walk out of the theatre when in the Vietnam sequence they carried the Statue of Liberty on their backs, singing "She's so Heavy." I cringed when they actually contrived to put a lesbian named Prudence in a closet and coax her out (singing, guess what?) And I finally caved when Jude (*gags self with spoon*) sings Strawberry Fields to...can....barely...say it....a fucking canvas with strawberries tacked to it!!!! First movie I've ever walked out of. And thank fucking god. Cus word is that the finale had them all singing "All You Need Is Love," at which point I'm certain I would have had an epileptic fit. I hated every single one of the characters- they were a parody of the 60s counter-culture movement. It's exactly that kind of thing that gives hippies a bad name. They all came off as self-indulgent, self-righteous, airheads. I rather wanted them to get smokebombed then clubbed by vicious riot police.
