Splendid find, Lugz!

When I look at that top one, though, I keep hearing the song "Little Green Bag" in my head...

Obviously they had to merge Kiera's and Orlando's characters to bring back Captain Jack Harkne... Sparrow. That's why there's no Kiera or Orlando in the pics.

This is the same site that those pics came from.

That's the teaser. I would have thought that it was fan made, but I saw those pictures, and more, on the above link about a month or two ago. There's more pictures, but I can't navigate the site being that it's in Russian.

You have to think in RUSSIAN! Do you think you can do that? I dunno about these movies. As good as they are, I just couldn't give a shit about them. Even this, sod the ESB cliffhanger continuation.

I don't get that feeling either. The cliffhanger didn't do it for me. I want to see it because the first 2 were really fun; no more, no less.

it is a tossup for me between this movie and Spidey 3 for my most-anticipated '07 summer movie. can't tell much from these pics, but then, after the first two movies either you like and have faith in Verbinski's work with the franchise or you don't, and some production stills aren't going to make any new fans or lose established ones. people can try to act as "meh" as they want, (i won't even get into that using the term "meh" at this point ranks right up there with doing the Marcarana), but POTC:DMC was good storytelling and i guarantee people didn't know how it was going to unfold until they saw it, which very few movies do these days with the formuliac storytelling style that is so common.

I suppose this is in my direction so I will respond. I only used meh because the movie feels more like another one, as opposed to "O M G I must see the new Pirates to see what happens, etc." I'm actually stoked to see the movie, but I don't plan on losing any sleep over it. And I am not knocking what is a most excellent series. I shouldn't use "meh" I guess. I therefore take back what I said. The word is just so tempting.

I also hope my comment wasn't misconstrued as "meh". I said "really fun; no more, no less" and the majority of the time, that's all I want. I didn't see the end coming, however, just like godzillasushi, the cliffhanger didn't leave me breathless, like the end of every single Dexter episode. I'm actually torn between this film and Harry Potter 5 for most anticipated films of next summer. Spiderman and Marvel never really did it for me (I'm not criticizing, just not my thing).

i kinda feel the same way about POTC3 as i did about POTC2 and how others feel about this. i expect it to be a lot of fun, i'm looking forward to it, and i'm sure it will make a ton of money, but it's not in that category of really highly anticipated films. i think the POTC movies, despite the cliffhanger and all, are still a lot more like the indiana jones movies than star wars or LOTR. people go to the movie for the fun and the action, but the underlying storyline is not the most compelling aspect of the film. the cliffhanger is hardly a cliffhanger, because no one seriously believes jack sparrow is dead, and he's sure to be in all the publicity, even in those stills above. and they won't wait very long in the film to resolve it because they want to have as much sparrow screentime as possible, since he's the biggest draw for these films.

so there's no way this can really compete with films like ROTS or ROTK or ROTJ for anticipation level. but there's still plenty to get excited about. hopefully they'll be able to top the stunts and fx of the last, and ms. beanpole looks pretty good in that asian getup. for me personally, one of the things i'm actually looking forward to the most is seeing keith richards as sparrow's pa. i hope he has more than just a few throwaway lines.

i honestly think that the ending of POTC:DMC would have been a good way to end POTC:ATWE. something more along the lines of a "Shane" ending even. making the third movie live up to the first two is going to be Verbinski's toughest test yet, imo, because he has already used a lot of good story devices and most everything has felt pretty fresh. i hope he has enough new ones left in his bag for this third movie.

Topping the special effects shots in the second one should be interesting. Can they make a scene as funny as the water wheel fight, or escaping from the island people? Some very memorable fight scenes that got a laugh out of me.

Okay, I partially agree. But I said 'this. looks. awesome' rather than 'this will be awesome.' I think the stills look cool, knowing that doesn't automatically make the film itself awesome.

I hugely enjoyed DMC, better than the first and the action scenes were some of the only ones where I've laughed at the stunts as much as I've gasped at them. Don't think I've done that since Indiana Jones. I loved the dark undercurrent the movie had as well. It was a very fun experience but it didn't do anymore than that, hopefully ATWE will continue like that. Verbinski and the writers have a great grasp of the world and the films and what bits we want more of and in just the right proportions too.

I mainly want to see it for the awesomeness of Davey Jones and Bill Nighy. He totally owned DMC.

And of course, I want to see if Keith Richards actually shows up somewhere.

Oh, and by the skull in the teaser having Jack's beard... does that signify an unfortunate ending for Sparrow? Or have all the teaser skulls had Jack's features and I'm too dim to notice?

They've always had his scarf though, which I thought was forboding the "undead" trick he played in POTC 1.

I can't wait for this movie. Now that I've seen 300, it moves up into the #1 slot for summer movies! :D I am psyched to see Barbossa again, he rivals Jack as my favorite character of the movies.

Someone needs to dig up that photo of Jack in the Asian costume, the one Disney says is Photoshopped. I don't buy that, I think it was just a rejected costume. Or maybe a trick of the infamous Sith Camaro Jack Sparrow lookalike.

Someone needs to dig up that photo of Jack in the Asian costume, the one Disney says is Photoshopped. I don't buy that, I think it was just a rejected costume. Or maybe a trick of the infamous Sith Camaro Jack Sparrow lookalike.

Its a toss up for me at the moment. IM Hyped on both Pirates and Spidey.

Pirates hooked me with the most bad ass cliff hanger ending ever, and Spidey is Spidey. I saw both movies opening day, and about 10 apiece after.

(well i saw pirates 2 about 15 times in the theater, mind you i was working at one at the time, so i got to see it free a lot)

Can't say I'm all that excited after DMC, which makes me quite sad. Loved the first one.

that'll be a $20 fine...
Personally, I'm an atheist in the voting booth and a theist in the movie theatre. I separate the morality of religion with the spirituality and solace of it. There is something boring about atheism.
