this is a really good, fun film (despite a big cocktease of an ending). i've seen it several times. i don't remember any turtles in the film.

What's the name of the Movie where there is a really f@t bald guy who swallows people whole? It was definitely 80's (probably late 80's), I seem to remember there was hardly any dialogue and I think it was meant to be a black comedy.

I think maybe it was set in a city (Possibly even in Mexico for some reason), the guy might have been carrying a large suitcase around with him the whole film and I think there was a man (who might have looked a bit like Bruce Dern) and a woman tracking him or trying to escape.

I know my description is very vague outside the basic premise but it's bugging the hell out of me.

I was trying to tell someone about a movie yesterday at the gym and totally blanked on the name. Its relatively new (within a year old) and here's what I remember about the movie:

French Gangster movie almost totally in prison, it begins with a really young guy being thrown in jail and the leader of a big jail gang faction makes him befriend the leader of a muslim crew (also a big faction) so that he can get close and slit his throat with a razor. In the second half of the movie he's in and out of jail but it's basically about a young, relatively soft street kid becoming a very prominent figure in the French gangster scene.

ring any bells? The movie is AMAZING and I wanna tell people about it

Okay, I've hit up about three different boards, and have had a lot of looks but no answers! I'm going to borrow the description from those posts, because I don't want to keep retyping it, so here it goes!

The last three or so minutes I remember was this girl running down hallways and corridors being chased by this guy in a suit (who I think may have been laughing, but I was real young when I saw this, so who knows?). Last thing I remember is her running down this one glass corridor, and she makes it outside into the parking lot with the guy behind her, and her mom is waiting for her and shoots the guy dead. Mom and daughter (at least I THINK they were related) get into a car (could have been red? Unless I'm mixing that with corvette summer) and drive off. It felt kind of like the building was sort of in the middle of nowhere. It was some kind of generic multi-story office building. That's all I recollect.

The movie could've been made anywhere between the late 70s thru the late 80s, but maybe more up until early mid-80s. I believe I saw it waking up to Movies Til Dawn on KTLA 5 back in the 90s, they'd show all kinds of older odd movies. Also, the women could have been blonde, and the guy may have had shaggy hair.

Hope you guys can help! This is the one movie out of many I can barely recall that has not surfaced through diligent internet surfing.

2. I'm all but sure it's Robert Young as the man in the story who warms the icy heart of the female lead.

3. This line I'm positive I heard: "We wouldn't miss your little old weddin' for the little old world'.......followed by the female lead stomping on his foot.

4. There's a reference to apple cider with Young drinking some.

5. I'm sure it's not The Enchanted Cottage, btw

I've checked Young's IMDBD lineup and couldn't find anything.

Anyone know?

Right, it's a kung fu movie & you've got like two gyms against each other or something. The leaders meet over a game of chess a few times & the leader of the good guys gets his tea poisoned.

Chances are, Gordon Liu was in it, it's well known & i'm gonna kick the shit out of myself for forgetting the name of it.

if you didn't know Whedon wrote it, i don't think you'd guess it from the watching the film.

Thank you guys for your responses about CABIN IN THE WOODS.

And you guys are correct about the whole Whedon thing. It's not that I hate his work or hate him personally. I don't like any of his tv shows. I've enjoyed some of the movie stuff he's done, just never in a big way. I don't consider him any great talent, but that doesn't mean he can't make a movie I still enjoy.

I also don't bother reading about any of his projects because the people who write about movies (especially internet geek writers) seem to pump him and I just can't cut through their fan enthusiasm to tell if the film is something I actually want to see. They also never put a trailer for this movie in front of anything I saw, so all I knew about it was that it was some Whedon movie that all the geek sites were pumping.

That funny gif of the unicorn killing man is probably enough to get me to see it. I'll check it out.

Can anyone match this vague description?

Korean (I think) scifi movie. It was in that post-The Matrix era. Somewhat CG-heavy and looked like the whole thing was shot in front of a bluescreen. It featured slightly powered people using metal suits and having fights. I remember the trailer featuring lots of close up shots of robotic face masks and being more exciting than the movie itself.
