DJ Yoda

Ok. So I have already extolled the auditory pleasures of the Super Furry Animals, I'm hoping they have already enriched your lives. Tickling your tender areas and tantalising your eardrums to a beat they'll never tire of.

So now, is anybody here a fan of DJ Yoda? Saw him live and he had me dancing to the likes of the Theme from Knight Rider and Donald where's your trousars. Only a Jedi master can make these tunes hip. Hunt him down.

WANTED!

Dude, he's DJ Yoda, a Jedi Master. Check out his album "how to cut and paste vol 1" which features a said sample from "Dune".

Britain's sampling laws are more lax than the States.

You can get away with anything if you don't try earn a profit, like some DJ's in the states do.

Any MP3's available, legally?

Ever hear him spin for Bullfrog?

Koala's scratching is the crispest I've EVER heard. It's like he's cutting glass sometimes.

I saw him opening for Radiohead in Montreal... I normally can't appreciate what a DJ can do, but I knew this guy was good... and he had a whole thing where he was mixing dialogue from Kirk and Spock, and there were Star Trek video clips projected on a large screen... great great show. And here's a link to a couple of Kid Koala music videos.

I've seen this guy play out a few times - very talented, but people like Cut Chemist and DJ Wooz from the Flaredycats are more my bag these days.

Yoda's "How to Cut n Paste, 80s Edition" is a marvel to behold, though!

Yeah, he is somewhat of a novelty. But, an oh so sweet one. I'll never tire of his special brand of geek nostalgic insanity. Definately not disposable, there's some real love going into his records.

Oh definitely - and I wouldn't ever pass up the chance to see him play! And I'd give my right leg to be able to do what he can do, that's for sure!

Now that's the type of Link I like here in the music thread.

Listenin' to it now, not bad.

Reminds me of Z-Trip.

Thanks for the intel!

RJD2 vs. Diplo

Would've liked to have heard more from Arular, but not bad. The highlight comes 'bout 13 minutes in with Outkasts "Roses" mashed up with RJ's "Good Times Roll".

Cheers KC, will look forward to listening to that after work.

On the Phat D.J Yoda link, yeah, that was a bit of steal to find a link like that, its a whole album streamed for free! I had great fun listening to it last night, it even has tracks you cringe to, but its all part of the albums nostalgic fun.

I'm fairly certain that he first started DJing in our Student Union whilst I was at the University of Warwick.

Another famous Warwick alumni to sit alongside Paul "Event Horizon" Anderson. Although DJ Yoda actually seems popular.

I just came zone-side to see if people were on to this (would have probably posted something pretentious and annoying in the 'New Music' thread, but this is better) - my new favourite party mix, seems a little skewed for the early-thirties ageing hipster set, or those that love eighties-retro hip hop and the like, but I guess I'm guilty as charged...
