I'm listening to a lil jig that I think Dino will recognize (that is if he is a true Italian).

Lou Monte - Dominic (The Christmas) Donkey

He is the sweetest lil donkey, you'd never see him kick

I'm actually friends with The Ordinary Boys, from Brighton, England. I used to hang out at the same bar as Sam Preston and co, and one of my best buds is damn close to them. They're actually really solid guys, they took a whole bunch of their pals out to one of their early gigs in the 100 Club, London (place where Ramones, Sex Pistols a al all played) by bus, which was a great gig. Can't say I'm the biggest fan of their music, but I guess they're a cut above most of the rest in the charts nowadays all the same. I got to be in one of their videos where I met Terry Hall (Specials), so respect to where it's due. :P

I actually d/led some Gang of Four thanks to the recommendation of a couple of Zoners, and I'm glad I did. "Not Great Men?" Fuckin' aces.

Right now I'm listening to "Cannonball" by Damien Rice.

Ribbons- I hope you keep on listening to GOF, they're definitely worth it. They've actually reformed recently, but I've always been too busy around the time of their gigs to see them. So check out the rest of Entertainment (Ether, Anthrax, Guns Before Butter), and then after you're done with them see if you can find anything by Magazine (sample lyric: "I know the meaning of life and it doesn't help me a bit"). Happy listening.

This doesn't stand for the Audio Book of Hairy Potter and the Goblet of Fire by the way...just in case anyone thought that.

Just finished playing The Clash - Sandinista, and I'm pretty wiped-out.

I guess I might throw on some Jesus and Mary Chain before I hit the hay. Some people would be more likely to play something calming and soothing if they're planning on going to sleep soon. I ain't some people.

It's too bad. The BJM have talent.

The scene with the Dandys raiding BJM's place for a photo session amid the squalor is classic.

Oh, and to stay on topic, now it's "Get Yourself Another Fool" by Sam Cooke.

is this even safe for you old man? Won't the BPM of a track like this, combined with the subject-matter(when's the last time you even had morningwood?) send you into heart palpatations? I mean, we can only hope, but still...
