Dance dance wherever you may be,
For I am the lord of the dance settee.

And I'll lead you all wherever you may be,
And I'll lead you all on the dance settee.

Manfred Mann's Blinded by the Light: "Wrapped up like a douche."

I think it was the Counting Crows that remade Joni Mitchell's Big Yellow Taxi. One of the lyrics is "put up a parking lot." For years I heard "put up a fucking line."

Here's a new one... in that song "4 Minutes" by Madonna, I thought for over a month that they were saying "We only got four minutes to say the word" in the chorus. Turns out they were actually saying save the world... which most of you probably already knew. I actually think I liked it better when I thought it was say the word, though...

'Faster' by Manic Street Preachers

Real Lyric
'So damn easy to cave in, man kills everything.'

Misheard Lyric (due to JDB's legendary Welsh pronunciation)
'So damn easy to cave in, mad cows everywhere.'

for the longest time I awlays heard the lyrics for Disarm by the Smashing pumpkins as

"sodomy is such a part of you"

when I guess the actual line is

"Inside of me is such a part of you"

Totally changed the tone of the song for me.

Scaramouche! Scaramouche!
Does the devil have long sideboards!!

I thought it was that line for years when I was a kid. Much hilarity for my parents. "Go on, sing that bit again Paul"
...and so forth.

I've only gotten into them since they changed the singer. Admittedly it's Corrs gone Metal since then and less operatic, but damn if Dark Passion Play aint addictive.

Yeah, I didn't get into them until later but I hadn't heard the new album yet.

I was listening to Dark Passion Play earlier, actually. Good shit.

A Buddhist friend of mine is heavy into psychoactive drugs to this day because of Jefferson Airplane's injunction to "Remember what the dormouse said: / 'Feed your head.'" For the longest time he thought it was, "Remember what the Dharma said..."

Go West's "King of Wishful Thinking."

Real lyric: "I'll pretend my ship's not sinking."

I heard "I'll pretend my shit's not stinking."
"Alright Shaggy - you and Scooby head over that way. The girls and I will go this way."

I hate the BEPs more than most, because I was forced to see them live a few years ago. There was a tour that Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera co-headlined, and the BEPs were the opening act. I had built some equipment for Christina's show, and there was a problem with it, so I had to go to Chicago to fix it during the tour. That meant that I had to watch the show that night to make sure the fix worked (actually, I watched two nights - they played the show in two different venues in Chicago on successive days.)

So I saw the BEPs twice. I'd never heard of them before. I thought they sucked badly. Their sound was awful. Their voices were awful. Their style was awful. They had some guy who didn't sing or rap or make any sound whatsoever; he just danced. He got the most applause! I thought, "Great. You all should just shut up and dance and get it over with." What a waste of decibels.

From time to time you hear a voice whisper "follow me", but I always understand "sodomy" instead. Oh, those kooky Dutch.

There's this one song by Elle Goulding where I swear it sounds like she's singing, "In our house made of bacon"
"Alright Shaggy - you and Scooby head over that way. The girls and I will go this way."
