No, his did because he posted the numbers without a space, same effect as a really long URL.

Thus, he gets the honor:

I like their new album, but it's not as good as their old stuff.

I never liked Death Cab at all, until I heard "Plans." And it just clicked and I got them. Now I retroactively like their older stuff.

I gave them a listen when I first heard of their band and thought that they were taking their name from a Bonzo Dog Do-Dah Band song.

Imagine my disappointment...

I've been listening to Death Cab's new CD lately. There are a couple of standout songs, some of which have already gotten what I guess you could call recognition by fans or whatever and there are some songs that I like better overall, but I think the "dark horse" of the album in terms of lyrics is "Grapevine Fires." I'm not sure whether this is about an actual fire that happened in California or a made-up one, but anyhoo:

When the wind picked up, the fire spread,
And the grapevine seemed left for dead,
And the northern sky looked like the end of days.

And the wake-up call to your rented room
Sounded like an alarm of impending doom
To warn us it's only a matter of time
Before we all burn.

We bought some wine and some paper cups
Near your daughter's school, and we picked her up,
And drove to a cemetery on a hill, on a hill

We watched the plumes paint the sky gray.
She laughed and danced through the field of graves,
And there I knew it would be alright,
That everything would be alright.

And the news reports
On the radio said it was getting worse
As the ocean air fanned the flames.
But I couldn't think
Of anywhere I would've rather been
To watch it all burn away.

And the firemen worked in double shifts,
With prayers for rain on their lips
And they knew it was only a matter of time.

Ta-da!

[shudders at the realization that he's one of those people who says "Death Cab"]

Love that song Ribbons. Probably one of my favorite songs on that album. I absolutely adore Narrow Stairs. Bixby Canyon Bridge and The Ice Is Getting Thinner are such wonderful bookends.

I like the songs, too!

I had an up and down relationship with Narrow Stairs. But these two tunes have me hopeful for Codes and Keys.

The Postal Service was an awesome experiment. GIVE UP still gets plenty of plays from me, but I have always preferred music with instruments to electronic based music. Which means that I will always prefer to listen to TRANSATLANTICISM or PLANS over GIVE UP.
