Sexiest Songs

Postby Lord Voldemoo on Wed Oct 03, 2007 1:38 am

By popular request, what are the world's sexiest songs?

Not singers...songs.

We have a love songs thread...but this is a little different.

I need to think on this a bit...there are so many to choose from.

Let's Get it On - Marvin Gaye
Red Light Special - TLC
Principles of Lust - Engima
Closer by 9 Inch Nails
Moments of Love - Art of Noise

I have more, this is just a start.

Can we ban Havoc and Kirk from this thread somehow?

Oh, the love song thread made me think of it...

Today by Jefferson Airplane--much more sexy song than love song. Probably helped by the oh-so-hot scene it plays during in "A Walk on the Moon." A must see.

On my radio show back in college I would do the "Strip Song of the week" and would say something like this at the beginning of the bed.

"Ladies get the chair out, put your lover there. Turn the lights down low and put a tossle too your hair. Fellas be a gentlemen, and remember you cannot touch. Sit back and relax... since I'm on the air, it's just your luck."

My favorite song for this segment

I still break out the old school RnB every now and then. R. Kelly - Bump 'N' Grind is still a tune and Jodeci - Freak N You is a classic. Both guaranteed to get chicks in the mood for lurrrrve. Being a bloke, Chas and Dave would be good enough as I am always in the mood.

Just about anything that Sade sang was sexy, imo.

She had such a deep, sultry, sexy voice.

"Crazy" is far from a sexy song, and the video doesn't count. How did Tyler let his daughter run around in those videos, anyway?

"Darling Nikki" - Prince
"Crazy on You" - Heart
"Big Love" - Fleetwood Mac

When it comes to Bob Seger, I'd have to go with something quieter. Both "Main Street" and "Night Moves" are suffused with sexual tension.

Let Love Rule by Lenny Kravitz. Try it and see!

Can sexiness be rung out of a song that is not inherently sexy? If the situation and person you are playing it to fit a certain song, I think so.

Word.

PJ Harvey - The entire 'To Bring You My Love' album. Whew. Maybe I should put this in the other thread.

Ennio Morricone - A Silhouette of Doom

Shivaree - Goodnight Moon

A Tribe Called Quest - Electric Relaxation

Tricky - Christiansands

Geraldine Fibbers - Seven Or In 10. 'Talk to me a little more/talk to me with those lips/pretty pink/let me sink/into your eyes/tell me another lie...'

Slayer - Angel of Death. Of course.

I dunno. All the 'traditionally' sexy songs don't do all that much for me. Al Green, sure, but that's about it.

Sad that the only time 99.9% of the public ever heard her voice was singing backup on "Battle of Evermore."

Listening to that track I can hear Richard Thompson singing the song, all of his phrasing and intonation - though Denny wrote it and I've never heard Thompson perform it. What a remarkable collaboration they had, once upon a time.

"Please, Please Me" - The Beatles. Quiet sexual frustration made to sound happy.

Not Jane Wiedlin - SONGS!

Jane Wiedlin has owned my heart since I first saw the video for "Our Lips Are Sealed." In the bridge, everyone else jumps out of the convertible and runs into a store. Jane sits on top of the rear seat and sings, in her small, quiet voice "Hush, my darling/Don't you cry/Quiet, angel/Forget their lies." Bliss. It doesn't hurt that she's beautiful.

"Joyful Girl" - performed by Soulive featuring Dave Matthews on vocals. Originally by Ani DiFranco.

Slow & sexy this tune is. When my wife and I were dating, I played it for her (her being a huge Dave Matthews fan). Her response - "This music is all about fucking!". Yes it is dear. Yes it is.
