Electric Six (or WTF happened there?!)

Postby Worst Part's Almost Over on Thu Jul 10, 2008 9:12 pm

How on earth did Electric Six manage to record an album of excellent, memorable pop tunes (2003's Fire) only to follow it up with three albums of unlistenable tripe??

Can anybody answer the above question and/or offer up opinions on other bands who followed a similar pattern?

Maybe it was a result of starting a nuclear war on the dance floor.

It has to have been - every track works and is fun and memorable. 'Naked Pictures' is my favourite track.

Didn't the singer fire some of the original members?
I remember hearing about them being bombarded with piss rockets & booed off stage at one of the UK music festivals a few years ago too.

Electric Six never have made an excellent album.

They've made four average albums, one of which just happened to have a couple of memorable tracks.

You sir, are an idiot and should be forced to listen to the new Cyndi Lauper album over and over and over! (Hint: It sounds like a Madonna-Album from the end of the 90's)
Not just is 'Senor Smoke' pretty much in the same league as 'Fire', 'Switzerland' has with 'There's Something Very Wrong With Us So Let's Go Out Tonight' and 'Pulling The Plug On The Party' two of my favourite, most played songs ever and 'I Shall Exterminate...'(Too lazy for the full title) is one of the best CDs of 2007. And not just because I can't think of any other album from that year that I liked so much, that I listened to it more than two times and even bought it!
Don't be dissin' the Electric Six man or I'll give you a war you won't believe!
