Thickfreakness and Rubber Factory are my 2 favorite albums from them. I think theyve mostly been doing the exact same thing since then which still make strong albums just not ones I fall in love with quite as much anymore after 8 or so years of fandom.

even though I am not sure how i went so long without being aware of them, probably due to being an old married guy with kids for years, i just recently "discovered' them and so all their stuff is fresh to me, though i know what you mean in that in listening to their various albums their sound hasn't changed much at all. lucky for me it is a sound i can dig

Auerbachs voice makes it feel pretty authentic.

I don't know if this has been mentioned upthread already, but a last-minute entry in the "Best CDs of 2010" category for me is "All Day" by Girl Talk.

Check it out, it's free!

Six months later someone finally responds! I just downloaded that album and hope it lives up to the amazingness of Feed the Animals, which I listened to nonstop for about two weeks. Also I'm seeing him at Outside Lands!

Hell yeah! All Day is awesome. I haven't heard that one you mentioned, so you'll have to tell us which one is better.

It's interesting; he puts out one of these albums every two years and has done since 2002 - NightRipper is my favourite, but I think it's because it's the one I heard first - what he does is technically skillful and at times very clever, but not always that durable. Anyway - I've seen him 'play - live', it's great fun, but less 'playing' or 'live' even than your average DJ - I was watching carefully - he'd fiddle with his lap top now and then and then bounce around the stage like a spastic epileptic.

the thread title brings up an interesting question: if it's from 2010, can it still be considered "new" music?
how could i possibly improve over my old sig image? just add water...

Recently I was thinking that, even though Wu Tang is forever, still, hip hop is kinda dead. But you know what? Das Racist.

Happy Birthday Ribbons! Das Racist are Awesome - I was testing you, and you won Something something something. On this blog, for free download and apparently with the band's permission and blessing quite possibly and/or likely, is a big ol' collection of Das Racist funktified NYC hip-hop cookies for one's delighted delectations - get 'em while they're hot and smoke 'em if you got 'em etcetera, etcetera...

it's dasracistilluminti.tmblr.com

and the best page to start is here - http://dasracistilluminati.tumblr.com/t ... ic+/page/2

heaps of stuff to stream if like me, you are a cowardly honky and stealing from the internet makes you nervous (I got over it, and bought "Shut Up Dude" and "Sit Down Man" for real cash money as well)
