I chose my name before I saw the music board. I had to dig up this thread and reply. And hello by the way.

How-do. Soz, we used to get a ton of musical-based spam, but my reply was meant in nothing but humour. I've got Takk and Agaetis Byrjun in my CD collection, both very good, but as much as I love a lot of the tracks the whole albums aren't as gripping as a whole.

That said, Staraflur in The Life Aquatic is one of the best used pieces of music in film evah, imo. Brought a tear to my eye.

I thought the same thing. It's quite unbelievably wonderful.

If you ever get a chance to see them live do so! I had originally thought it might be a slow concert and rather boring, but their live performance adds so much gravity to their work its unbelievable.

Whenever I see the name Sigur Ros I think their name is SUGAR Ros, and that all their songs should be about candy. Then, when I find out they're not, I get depressed and start looking for REAL candy, which I then eat until I pass out.

So, in a way, Sigur Ros is responsible for my crippling obesity.

Maybe you'd benefit from a Bananarama album.

I agree that not all their songs are interesting. The album of theirs I find myself skipping tracks the most is ( ).
But I can see your point Atomic, of not knowing if I was for real or not. No offense taken. :)

NP, I'm a bit blunt atm.

I've not heard (). But I think Aegetis Byrjun is one of the best albums ever created.

() has some good tracks, but isn't as good an album as Aegetis or Takk.

Has anyonebody listened to Hvarf/Heim yet?

Im only on my second listen but it the album really reminded me how great they were.

Is this their best material? No, but GOD DAMN DO I LOVE THE ACCOUSTIC songs. The oplder reworked material has soem great moments on their as well, but doesn't manage to reach the glorious heights of other albums.

And "Jefferson Starship" comes in a close second. "We built this city" is unstoppable.

Vote for "Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust" as catchiest album title of the decade.

If by catchiest, you mean "catching on your tongue as you try in vain to pronounce correctly," then I agree

I think I had those two songs on repeat for about an hour the other day.

The two mentioned above are the most "pop" of their output.

You probably have heard some of their stuff, and probably not realised it... 'Hoppipola' from the album Tak (or talk) has been played in so many things it's not even funny... I really like that album too, Give it a listen wherever you go to find that sort of thing for yourself... I really like them musically just don't particularly care for his voice even if it does go...

By the way, you're AV is shit...
