So tired! Don't want to work, just want to play more g.o.w.

Godzilla is a total badass and some of his buddies are pretty damn good also. But Wonka and Athena each had several kills per game.

Me on the other hand - Suffice it to say; I was usually the first guy to die. 98% of the time anyway and I usually never saw it coming. One minute I'm trying to find a cool gun the next I'm cursing at the top of my lungs and damning the douche who smoked me.

This is so much fun yet so addictive it may bring Betty Ford herself out of retirement. Thank you wikipedia

Sushi is a one man killing machine...
And btw Ric aka Rico said he is going to change his username because he is tired of being called Rico... lol

Sushi probablly could have killed everyone all by himself.. And most of the time he did... lol

All in all it was a good group of guys we found to play with (non zoners that is-Do I really need to say how awesome the zoners were??)... I felt bad for Sushi because he had to deal with us n00bies...

Anyway, for those of you that dont know the way it is set up is this...

One person hosts the tournament and then 7 other players can join the game... There are 2 teams of 4 players and we play til all members on one team are dead....

Once you are personally killed, you are sent off to this "dead zone" where you can only talk to the other players who are also dead.. From the dead zone you can lock the camera onto your teamates who are still alive....The guys who are still in the game cant hear you but I still found myself shouting at them to "watch out.. he's coming up on your left!!!!" lol

I found most of my time was spent in the dead zone :oops:

But I was thoroughly entertained in watching the others play....
Anyhoo.....

When Godzilla finally showed up & Wonka came back from dinner, we decided to try and be "The Zoners" against the other 4 guys in the game...

Trevor would die...
I would die...
Wonka would die...

And we'd all sit in the deadzone bullshitting as we watched in amazement and awe the fanfucking-geektastic skills that Sushi would display....

I mean we literally saw him take down all 4 members of the other team by himself... Amazing... Sushi was very helpful in communicating during play & I did learn where some good weapons were on certain maps... I still feel soooooo n00bishly awkward but I also feel like I am getting better...
Some of those fucking weapons are really hard to use.... I tried to use that hammer thing & blew myself up... But Sushi was just a mad man....
I found myself saying "Oh my God-zilla" quite often... Wonka was pretty dangerous too... he plays all stealth and then bang all of a sudden he's there to help like a killing machine...

So yeah....
Went to sleep real late once again last night... But it is totally worth it...
I am having a blast playing & having a blast interacting with teh gaming-zoners....

Hope to see more of you getting into this...
I would love to have a four on four zone game at some point...

I didnt get in the Halo 3 beta either. Garbage!!! We could really have enough zoners for that. Do some 4 on 4 matches. That would be fun. Athena, Tfactor, ya'll have Halo 2?

Actually, they don't....but I told them it's a must, so hopefully they get it soon. Indeed we should do private four on four matches with no shields.....get ourselves to elite-force levels for Halo-3.

Not yet, but given the negative feedback on Lost Planet perhaps we'll swap that out for Halo 2 - whenever we actually leave the house again. Is it good? I'll take a look at some videos w/ athena later and of course we'll be back online playing gow later tonight I'm sure. I was dreaming about playing the game last night, sad but true. What's even worse was that I still sucked and kept getting killed

Anyway we just never really got into Halo tbh until this online thing - we've never really liked the 1st person shooters.

Now that's all we want to play :lol:

Yeah, I downloaded the online-demo for Lost Planet and I had no fucking clue what was going on/who's side I was on....it sucked I thought.

If you love GOW then you'll love Halo-2 as well...online it's the same, only....faster. And of course there's all out slayer...every man for himself.

Slayer sounds sweet! Actually I was wondering that last night, can we set free for alls on private matches? and have any of you ever played the other public options? I think one was like capture the flag or something and one had something to do with one person being the kill target on each team - once they die its over (like chess)

These are settings you choose when you host the battle, do you know what I'm talking about?

Gears has no option for anything other then 4v4. There are variations of 4v4 but nothing like Halo. Halo has basically a million ways to do anything. Of course slayer only means theres more people for me to kill.... :lol:

Couldnt we do that with just the 4 of us?? 2 on each team...
Teams really wouldnt matter because we'd all be following you around to learn the ropes anyway...

Right exactly, there's an option to only have people that you invite in a match. I'll have to host the matches also, I have a pretty decent connection I think. You both should play the campaign though. It would show you how to use the guns and utilize cover. Since you can do co-op both of you could help each other out.

We are 100% there dude, actually we will probably have a place hosted by that time. Though that 5pm internet rush hour is usually pretty harsh on my end so perhaps the host should be someone else - at least until 7-8pm EST

Also would you possible be interested in doing a group co-op this weekend. We talked about it last night since me athena and wonka haven't played the game through yet but we'd need a 4th I think, interested?

This weekend is going to be all torque & hammer baby!

I'm surprised we're not seeing more of the zoners in there more frequently, are you guys playing something other than GOW? We're going to go get Halo 2 tonight probably so hopefully we'll be a bit more diverse in our games.

I've only really played with Wonka (who is becoming badass), sushi (who I feel bad for because he always has extra work to do because we suck), athena (on par with wonka) and I (always first to get shot :oops:

Anyway this weekend we may be tied up a bit from playing the actual game and the superbowl but definitely hope to start seeing more of you in there soon.

The online quarter-matches are pretty cool. You get four people to a lobby, two playing, two watching....everybody can talk. Sort of an "I get winner" scenario, much like chilling at a buddy's house back in the day or at the arcade maybe, but now online. And of course there's leaderboards. It's pretty cool.

Ha! I was actually online all day yesterday! I took my 360 over to my buddy's house to play on his newly-purchased big-screen TV after the Super-Bowl. (we played on into late last night) I might be on later tonight, but late. I still gotta watch 24 and all the DVRed shit I missed yesterday. Btw we still need to work a co-op match some time.

Yeah, there's quarter matches on ranked...I'm pretty sure.

Also, Geometry-Wars-Evolved on arcade is pretty addictive...check out the demo, you will see.

Yea Kid i'll flaunt my skills tonight. I honestly have been playing like crap the past few days so im due a good night. Im sure this happens to you, where your reflexes just dont feel good sometimes. Mine were partly due to the hangover I had Sunday (Im the quarters master though), and cold fingers. Last time I played with Trevor and Athena, they kicked my butt.
