Was going to mention bladerunner when trying to rememebr the title. That is exactly how I see it too, but with more action probably.

Don't write a new story, just follow the games exactly as they play out. Fantastic stories. These were 2 games that were honest to goodness too good for the mainstream gamers but universally loved by critics. Thief is just plain bad ass with a great story and an incredibly likable anti-hero.
