Akinator, The Web Genius

You can get pretty damn obscure and this guy will still guess who you're talking about. So far it's managed to guess Harry Knowles, Lovejoy, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, Zoroaster and even the obscurest of obscurest jazz musicians in my collection. It seems to have a problem with ex-footballers, though...

Holy fuck that is beyond creepy.

I wasn't that taken aback when he guessed Dexter, but Gertrude from The Runaways?

This guessing genie has just infected my computer and will now steal my soul, won't he?

Ha, I beat him with Creighton Burnette from "Treme." I answered "probably/partially" to a lot of questions since he's based on a real guy, but I was talking about the fictional character. He even asked me if he was famous because of YouTube, and still guessed wrong.

Edit--I also beat him with F. from Leonard Cohen's "Beautiful Losers," and I can't introduce the character to him because the name has to be at least two characters long and the period causes an 'unknown error.' You fail, Akinator.

It correctly guessed Scut Farkus from A Christmas Story.

It did NOT guess Mr. Morehouse (Ned Beatty) from The Toy.... and then I clicked something I shouldn't have and got an error message in trying to enter the character's name.

It then correctly guessed Geddy Lee (Rush bassist/singer), Lobot (Empire Strikes Back), and Webster (Webster 80's TV show)

It correctly guessed Arthur C. Clarke, but I stumped it with Hubert Sumlin, the blues guitarist who used to play with Howlin' Wolf.

It's not so smart, after all.

If it couldn't guess who Zaphod Beeblebrox was, it's not that good.
