U2 was great. I LOVE their early stuff, especially "The Unforgettable Fire" album. Back then they sounded like nobody else on earth. I haven't bought anything of theirs since Achtung Baby.

No, it wasn't obvious. They used to make hardcore/underground rap albums. Very little airplay on the radios until their breakout hit "Crossover" in the early-90's. They broke up soon after that. Reformed once more and are broken up again. They mainly produce other rap artists now.

Never been a fan of Cave myself but you might be interested to know that he has written a movie, 'Proposition' which is showing at Sundance.

Cave wrote the screenplay for "the Propostion" for the director Terence Hillcoat - he did another movie w/ Hillcoat - one of my favorite prison flicks, called "Ghosts of the Civil Dead", about ten years ago - and scored both films - the soundtracks are both great. Cave plays a character in "Ghosts..." too, the only role I know him having played except for that odd Cameo in "Johnny Suede" (I think it's called) where he came in wearing a massive blonde rockabilly wig and, lacking any salt, licked a woman's armpit to go with his tquila and lemon.

Cave would be in my favorites lists, still trying to whittle the other inclusions down to something manageable.

No love for Bruford-era Yes? Can't get over how good that guy is myself. My love for Yes stops after Close to the Edge (Tales from Topographic Oceans turned me off them a bit), but feel free to point me in the right direction as regards laer material.

they (polysics) are playing down here on the 6th of march. i just got my tix yesterday, and i am so pumped to go! glad to hear you like em.

and as far as buffalo daughter... they are a little experimental/artsy (especially the later stuff) but with strong funk and dance undertones. great stuff. hope you like them too.

btw, if you like gwar, you may want to check out the DBX. The Dave Brockie Experience. its oderous urungus from gwar, sans the makeup and costume, but twice as hilarious. ive seen a little bit of them live. well worth checking out.
