We need a DIRTY WORK Special Edition!!!!

Postby FilmBuffRich on Fri Dec 09, 2005 11:13 am

I'm sitting here listening to an episode of The Howards Stern Show from October and Artoie Lang was teeling yet another funny story about the day Don Rickles filmed his scene for the comedy Dirty Work. I'm thinking that there has to be a load of stories about the making of this film. We need a special edition of this with a Norm, Artie, Bob Saget audio commentary, cut scenes, the works.

I fucking Love "Dirty Work"

"And if you don't Pay I Punch you in the Stomach Okay"

Chevy Chase is even good in it. Special edition would rule.

"Note to self- she's your Aunt!"

If you've seen the movie, or Norm McDonald, you'll know that's funny.

Up there with The Wrong Guy as my favourite comedy ever. Both of them are criminally underrated and absolutely hysterical.

Best thing about them? Neither bother to put in that stupidly romantic, overly serious, main-character-redeeming, time-wasting melodrama ala Adam Sandler movies that does nothing but waste time trying (and failing) to make us care about the idiotic characters, time that would've been better spent making us laugh some more. Both The Wrong Guy, and Dirty Work, for their entire 85 minute running time, are dedicated to doing one thing, and one thing only- make you piss your pants.

And that they do. And that they do.

What hurt the most was the lack of respect that this movie has gotten since its release. It is comedy gold

I'll sign the petition. Absolutely one of the most underrated comedies out there.

I wish we were seeing more of Norm in stuff like this. No justice, man -- he's sitting on the sidelines, while Sandler is putting out fucking Click this summer.

I find Dirty Work hysterical too...

The scene with "movie line!" and Norm stops the car right in front, and gets out and walks accross the street, of said movie line with Artie Lang's ass hanging out the window literally IPAMPIALSH, for me!

I completely agree, also one of Chris Farley's best performances.

I'll buy a Dirty Work SE only if they put back all the stuff they took out to get the PG-13. If you go back to the jail scene, when Norm walks back into the frame and chastises the unseen prisoner for his conduct, particularly the "other stuff," you hear him say "other stuff" but his mouth clearly says "anal rape." What's a Norm MacDonald movie without an anal rape joke?

Hey, once Norm teams up with Artie AND the Hoff, he's going to HIT THE LOTTERY!!!

Until then, he'll just booze and whore around with those Vegas whores.

Get it, whores.

I remember ads for this film and then it just disappeared. Glad to hear it was actually funny. I shall rent.

Why did it bomb at the theatres?

Dirty Work is an absolute laugh riot (I can't believe I actually said "laugh riot)...but it seriously is!

i finally got to see this this past weekend. i agree with all of the above, it was hilarious. a lot of the comedy is basically norm macdonald doing his SNL schtick (like the notes to self) but if you liked those, then obviously you'll like this.
