Actually they played "Serenity" at many theatres across the U.S. (even my lowly city of Des Moines, IA participated) and Europe for Whedon's birthday. My local comic store had a flyer... The idea was to celebrate Joss's birthday by watching Serenity and giving to his favorite charity... some Woman's Global Amnesty thing (who cares, it's not important :P ).

I didn't go because the theatre, Fluer Cinema, carried it and the place literally sucks balls.

Anyhow, happy birthday Joss... and although you're jaded, please come back to TV and give me something, anything worth watching.
