Star Trek: TOS Remasted DVD!

Postby Leckomaniac on Tue Jul 31, 2007 10:12 pm

At the Star Trek: TOS Remastered panel at Comic-Con it was announced that the DVD/HD-DVD combo Season One would be released on 11/20. This will apparently be a 10-disc set. There will not be a DVD-only release. The combo is it.

The catch...the price tag.

At the moment...the price for just the first season: $217. This DOES NOT include the original episodes. Only the remastered ones. One season. $217.

Wow.

IPAMP. Your fiesty today Dino...

It seems that this is the best(worst?) case of having your audience by the short hairs... they could have charged 400 dollars and ST fanatics would have still lined up to buy it.

What is this "remastered", Kirk? To me that means only reconstruction of the audio/video signal to clean up deterioration and other damage. Is this the CGI effects replacement they've talked about, also?

I believe so since those are broadcast in HD....atleast I think they are.

I had no idea they'd finished those. Since I now have only a small non-HD TV, no point in my even thinking about getting this package.
