meh.
So, on a meh out of ten, that's...?

Cargill goes into the office, thoroughly defeated. He turns to a corner of the room. "I'm sorry sir, I failed to destroy Springfield."
We see a desk, and a chair turned facing away from the audience. "Then we will implement plan B. Ha. Hahahaha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" The chair turns, and SIDESHOW BOB maniacally laughs, before being smacked in the face by a rake.

7/10 probably

It should've been President Wolfcastle.

What the fuck happened to Ranier Wolfcastle - why not just make him the President...he's their "Ah-nuld" anyways...
I thought it just didn't work like it should've...which is too bad - cause A. Brooks had some nice scenes with the President...
The only reason it should've been Ah-nuld is if they actually got the real Ah-nuld to do the voice...
Otherwise - I had a great time...

I agree...

when they already have Rainier "Luftwaffe" Wolfcastle? This had better be addressed with a witty aside, dammit!
yeah yeah, show's not funny anymore, yeah yeah, we miss the (g)olden days, but, c'mon, look who's producing/writing (sadly, no Conan)/directing...those are the folks responsible for those early years of brilliance.
and you know they didn't do it for the cash, those guys are loaded. I would only be cautiously optimistic, but each and every trailer and teaser has elicited at least a chuckle out of me...

The Tom Hanks stuff was funny, and it was the real Tom Hanks!
Chilli wrote:It was. But if you're not going to get Ah-nuld in to cameo as himself, why include him at all? Especially when a self-created character such as Wolfcastle is far funnier.

The only thing I can think of is that they were afraid people wouldn't get the joke unless it was actually Schwarzenegger. Either that, or they're too dogmatic about their characters to make Wolfcastle into a politician, even if he is an Ah-nuld manque...
Ribbons wrote:Chilli wrote:Isn't Wolfcastle part of the evil Republican group Mr. Burns fronts?
Is he?I honestly don't know...

It features in the episode Sideshow Bob Roberts when he runs for Mayor.

i don't think there really is an explanation, just another example of why using Homer as a side character rather than the main attraction works so well. We, the viewers, get to imagine just what the fuck he might've done to honk off the good, honest, strong-moral-fiber denizens of Riverdale.
attempt to kidnap the school mascot? Ogle Betty and Veronica? Sing "Sugar, Sugar" off-key?
we'll never know, but it's fun to imagine...
