Volume 2 is much better, a great improvement in story and art. Only the wiseass dialogue remains on the same level. Volume 3 is true greatness.

You're right, they probably aren't the FIRST 11, but they're somewhere in the beginning at least... maybe we can say that they're "Approximately the first 11 pages."

I'm going to draft a plan of how to say this and I'll get back here for revisions and suggestions.

Just finished Volume 1 - took about 30 minutes to read.

Hilarious. Ramona and her 7 evil ex boyfriends! Great stuff. I'm getting a kick out of Wallace and Scott's sister so far. They are all hilarious though.

Oh, and I love all the Canadian references:

Not yet, as I might be floating between two locations when Vol. 4 is released... I won't order it until the date is more or less "sealed" and I could have it delivered where I know I'll be at the time of delivery.

Pacino, your sig photo is what turned me on to this. I haven't picked any up yet, but that one single panel of him standing there with a sword, and an elf going "Do you know the code?" just screamed "BRILLIANT."

I missed this post the first time around, but it is totally awesome that you're giving the series a chance. The first volume is less than ten bucks I reckon, and for like 200 pages of awesomeness it's totally worth it!!

Pacino, I actually didn't get to pick it up. I must have looked in five different stores, and when I finally DID find it, I realized why I couldn't locate it at the others: THEY HAVE IT IN THE FREAKIN MANGA SECTION!

I wasn't expecting that, I figured it'd be a full-size GN style book. Oh well

I didn't buy it, though... I know, I suck. But that's because I swore going in that if World War Z was in paperback, I'd be getting that first. And, well... it was. But now that I know where to find it, I'll be snagging it.

Did I mention that there is WAY TOO MUCH MANGA out there these days? When I was a kid, this would have been fucking HEAVEN. They must have had 6 shelving units with 5 shelves each, all COMPLETELY PACKED with manga. Scary. Scott Pilgrim deserves better than to be stuck over there. From the little I've read, yah... far more awesome than Naruto, or the freakin manga sequel to Labyrinth.

I have to say, I've only read a few of the preview pages on the site, and those few had my dying. This guy's artwork is great. Firs of all, he basically took Link from Wind Waker and made him a Canuck (I'm guessing?). Then he gives the best band name ever: Sex Bob-omb. CLASSIC. But there are little moments that just make me lol. I love him waking up from the dream in the desert with the girl on the roller skates, just the look on his face is like :shock:

So freakin funny!

Anyways, I meant to say that I saw it at Borders. They actually had it filed correctly in their search system kiosks, listed as "Graphic Novels: Other" which also contains the likes of The Dark Tower, Wanted, Watchmen, etc. Apparently someone saw the manga-style binding that was used for Pilgrim and decided that's where it belonged.

I've thought about buying all the volumes online, but I think I'll just ask my friendly comics retailer (don't call them "dealers") to order me all four. We should all support our locally owned comics shops. Because if you don't, they'll go away!
