another brilliant entry in what's probably my fave AV Club feature to date.

I've bumped this up on my netflix queue, but I gotta ask...anyone seen this? Just what am I getting myself into?

It's kind of like grotesque fetish porn: once you see it you can't unsee it. It's been years but I remember the silver bodysuit! Oh God, the silver bodysuit!

yes I have.

and, yes, it could be stranger, as the "muppets on acid" shtick was expected.

even reading the write-up, I'm still not quite sure what to expect from The Apple...

As one reviewer put it, "It's like 'Phantom of the Paradise', only gayer and made in Berlin."

Though I think it inspired the far superior "Josie and the Pussycats".

Yeah, "g.ay" doesn't even begin to cover it. I think there's only one movie that's more g.ay, and that would be "Can't Stop the Music." Not even g.ay porn is more g.ay.
