Blue Harvest (Family Guy Star Wars) on DVD!

Postby King Psyz on Tue Jan 15, 2008 4:29 pm

So I picked up the DVD this morning, Logan seemed to really like it :)

The DVD is fairly nice for $14, comentary, making of, a gag reel of all the Family Guy Star Wars refrences, ect.

They were also pimping a box set for $30 that had 3-D glasses for the fight scene, some cells, artwork, ect.

Anyone else picking this up?

I normally like Family Guy, but this episode was weak sauce for me. Pass.

I'm debating whether or not I wanna pick this up. I still have the episode saved on my Tivo. Also, I didn't think it was that great. I love Family Guy, but this episode wasn't all that I expected it to be....

Is there anything in the DVD version that wasn't in the broadcast version (meaning the actual episode, not the DVD extras)?

If not, I don't think the extras alone are enough to make me buy this. The commentary/gag reel might be kinda fun, but I know I'd watch it once and then never again.

Comes out in the UK next Monday, aka my Birthday. First thing I plan to do is buy a copy.

I've read that it's four minutes longer and has uncensored dialogue. I assume the extra time is made of lots of little cuts.

I've bought it mainly for swag...almost as a come down from the Blade Runner briefcase high.

Screw the uncensored dialogue. For some reason I actually find it funnier when it's bleeped out.

I'm not buying another one of these until Lois gets topless...

Agreed (which is also why I didn't follow Howard Stern when he went to Sirius satellite... I thought that listening to him/then dance around the curse words and FCC stuff was what made them so funny to begin with).

Though I enjoyed the episode, does this really warrant an individual DVD release? Wouldn't it be better to wait until they done spoofs of episodes V and VI first?

Surely we should be expecting re-releases with updated animation and Stewie shooting first.

My set arrived today. It's a decent DVD. The interview with George Lucas is a little odd.

The packaging is a poorly put together.
