The greatest TV in history is being made right now. The worst TV in history is being made right now.

They are re-airing all episodes on HBO, some back to back - a FOTC Marathon!!! This is cool because I was a wee bit late in the game and I missed the first two episodes. :)

As well, more news:

I just found this out too. And I had him pegged as a hobbit...

I prefer their live stuff to the show (which I still haven't seen a whole episode of, just bits and pieces thanks to YouTube), but wow...Jermaine does one hell of a David Bowie impersonation.

Did you notice in that one episode, where they had international bands playing - the host that announced the bands was Darryl Hall? Also, Mel's dancing was funny to "Who Likes to Rock the Party". tee hee

Thankfully for Tape I saw an ep of this over the weekend. Bloody funny... such a simple idea for a show that works so well. Also, I just love to hear a kiwi accent amonst all of the yanks.

They had a marathon of FOTC a few weeks back. I DVR'd the entire season. I watch them all the time, they are just hilarious. Not sure which one is my favourite - could be the Aussie vs Kiwi thing. That was too funny. Their road trip on the bus was funny also.

Is there any word about extra features? deleted scenes? FOTC seems like the kind of show that would have a tonne of deleted scenes (they pack so much into 25 minutes!)

Dunno Blue - be cool though. They also have a CD, but unfortunately, it doesn't have the "Tech Support/Leggy Blonde" song.

"This is 1986 David Bowie from the movie Labyrinth."

I swear I thought they'd gotten David Bowie to dub over Jemaine. He's a genius.

The best, though, is the ep with Leggy Blonde when Murray is writing a song and Jemaine breaks into his mumble-rap: "Hmmhmmmhmmmhmm panties on."

And, I must shout out my excitement about having SEEN MEL! Yes...I was that excited when I saw her too. It was at a concert for the National at the Wiltern. She passed by me and I blurted out "Oh My GOD Mel!" but she wisely kept on walking and didn't turn around to avoid the rapid fan. Ha. Like that could thwart me. Later I told my friend and we walked by her seat (it turns out she was just a couple dozen seats down our row), saying (quite coyly if I do say so myself) "Hey Mel." I flashed her a peace sign. That's right. We can play it cool.

She's quite cute in real life without the manic look in her eye.

No deleted scenes, just 6 episodes per disc, no frills at all. The show's that good I don't really mind, but I assume a bells on disc will appear next year.

I feel a little late to the party... I got this for my brother on DVD...

Watched the first few so far by far my favourite moments have been with the 'rhymnocerous' and 'The hip-hop-appotamus'...

really cracked me up...

I've heard the songs before on their old radio show... they had a funny bit at the end of each episode where the manager would phone Neil Finn from crowded house for advice... and it really was him... Also as a bit of trivia, the guy who produced the radio show was none other then uber genius Chris Morris of Brasseye/ the day today fame...

All the comedy talk in the Office thread made me have to search this thread out and just exclaim to the world:

THIS IS THE BEST SHOW EVER!!

No doubt the best comedy I have seen in my LIFE - I am sooo jealous of the creators, how can they come up with this stuff?? It's pure comedy gold, over and over and over, there's not one bad joke, not one inactive moment, it's just funny upon funny upon funny! Like when Jemaine and Bret are talking about how J would like to take Sally home on a date, but it's on the board that B is going to work on his secret project (his helmet that looks like his hair). Every fucking sentence is gold. Ok I see myself getting a bit carried away here. I just wanted to express my love and admiration. Sorry for rambling, over and out.

Oh, oh, just one more thing:

Dave: "Look guys, I don't know how you do things back in Europe..."
B&J: "New Zealand."
Dave: "Yeah, probably."

!!!!!!!

That was one episode. The guy at the fruit stand wouldn't sell them fruit because he thought they were Aussies.

Then Jemaine explained the whole cah or caah thing.

How happy it made me to wake up to the Flight of the Conchords thread revitalized!

My friend downloaded all their songs a while back and I practically broke the CD I played it so many times. Interestingly, some of the eps and songs I didn't like as much at first have grown on me immensely. Murray's song "Leggy Blonde" scored mid-ranged on the awesome-meter first time I heard it, but now it might be nearly my favorite.

And btw, isn't there a poster hanging in Murray's office that says something like, "New Zealand- It's not Part of Australia"?

I want that poster.

Item 1...

Funny story...there's this guy at my work who likes FOTC as well. So he started this thing where he comes into my office every day and says, in Murray-voice, "Okay everyone...baand meeting."

But, like, literally every day....for two months. And for nothing other than that! Then sometimes he segues into a Stewie Griffin impersonation but I can never tell because they sound exactly the same.

Dear B.B.,

It sounds like you are a rational person and this girl's boyfriend is a senseless twat.
Of course she should dump him, but don't hate her if she doesn't - twatiness can be contagious.
Just hope the best for her, and keep watching FOTC.

Racist dragon was a great episode.

I still like the fruit stand episode especially the credits at the end when they are flipping the bird to the Aussie consulate guard.

Dear B.B.-

May I suggest you take a page out of Bret and Jemaine's book. Woo your lady co-worker with hand-made pop-up cards and glass-blown butterflies, take her out for kebabs and serenade her with Part-time model. If you're a little more daring, pull your guitar out of the blue and surprise her with Bret You've Got It Going On (obviously replacing Bret with the name of the lady in question...here's hoping it's monosyllabic.) True, the lyrics don't exactly mirror your romantic sentiments, but if she's a true Conchords fan she'll get the reference and reward you with fellatio for your efforts. At this point, the boyfriend should be a non-issue.

Thanks for writing in!
-Love, Abby
