That really is awesome. I really appreciate the attention to detail...

And yeah, that ad is pretty good, but I kinda prefer the one with the dude who turns anything he touches into the candy.

I love this commercial. It's my favorite of theirs: Orbit - Raspberry Mint

Fawst wrote:I dig the Michael Bay commercial for Verizon Fios. I'm guessing that most of you outside of the US haven't had a chance to see it.
It's Bay at his house (presumably) and he's like "Hi, I'm Michael Bay, director of awesome films. I demand that things be AWESOME!" Then he clicks a button in his hand and a huge explosion goes off in the background. Later on, he's standing in the backyard "Awesome barbecue..." (there's a full scale Bumblebee robot standing behind the grill, which explodes when he pushes another button) "Awesome pool!" (yes, the pool then blows up)
It's pretty damn funny, look for it on YouTube. Can't from work, or else I'd find it for you guys.

I'm actually surprised no one posted this yet.

The new advert has the Gremlins in... as in - the green, mischevious, all-singing all-dancing kind from the movie with the Peltzers in!
Would it have cost them a lot to use them? And who do they have to pay to use their imagery?

I've enjoyed all of the DirecTV within-the-movie ads so far, but I'm not a fan of this one at all.
Considering his co-star in the ad died when she was 12.... that just seems wrong.

Really stupid...agreed. And I love how they try and inject some kind of social/political relevance in there: a guy in Alaska saving whales (oh, isn't that cute), an african bush teacher with her 200 students (oh, isn't that cute), a philosphy professer extolling the existential meaning of what it is to be a PC (oh, isn't that...wait, wtf did he say?).
Where are the "I'm a PC, and I surf for porn every night" guys that make up 99% of PC users?

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that both the office world and the sports world are ripe for parody, and putting them both together yields strangely awesome results. Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that they don't have to worry about actually selling anything. Either way, they know how to bring it.
For those of you not familiar with the NBA, all you need to know is that the character in this video is a mascot for the Milwaukee Bucks. The rest of the commercial explains itself:
