The first issue was released last week, kicking off DC's third on-going weekly. What did everyone think? Personally, I dug it. The back-up feature was a bit wordy, but I have faith that it will work itself out.

So, what say you all? How is this going to stack up to 52? or Countdown?

I really like the first issue myself. I have the 52 trades but haven't read them yet. But I haven't heard anything really that good about Countdown so I'm a little leary on that.

I am not sure why this is getting such raves. The writing was scattered in the first half and downright obtuse in the latter. Bagley's art didn't even look that good. I hate comics where I can't tell what the fuck is going on.

That pretty much guarantees I won't read it. I couldn't stand his work on "Amazing Spider-Man" and have actively avoided him ever since.

The pencils in this are...not-a-so-good.

I mean, I am fine with sketchy, shit, I love the art in From Hell, but serious problems with perspective, and human anatomy that looks like prime-grade freak show tent shit is just too much. Is dude drawing with his feet? I wish he would stop. It looks like some sort ofTodd Browning Pinhead shit.

Osnap. This was alot better. The back up story from last issue that was so uppity got all integratez into this main story. Art was better, and the action was slick. Have to say, characterization is top notch.
