The Zone's Fantasy Band

Sigur Ros is the greatest living band. Discuss.

My fantasy band is all about style.

There's some old school voodoo in that line up.
Very nice.

Sorta hard to take seriously when the only percussion is Yoko Ono's tambourine.

This is true.
How about throwing a madman like Jamie Muir in on percussion?
He'd fit right in.

I thought Keith Moon carried over. And tambourine doesn't count as percussion! It's the throwaway position (which is why Yoko Ono is perfect for it  )

But I have not heard of this Jamie Muir...good enough to illegally download?

Muir is really old school - best example of his insanity can be found on Lark's Tongue in Aspec by King Crimson, circa 1974.
Yeah, I'm old as hell....and about as dry.

I think we have a thread around here like this already.

But here's one lineup I like:

Vocals - Roger Daltrey

Guitar - Pete Townshend

Bass - John Entwistle

Drums - Keith Moon

That would probably be a damn good band, I think.

I just took WAY too much time creating an all-star band.... only to find that "Topic does not exist" once I was finished.
I love my existing bands above and am seriously amused that my single new band is almost composed of all the bands I created above.

Fievel's New All-Star Band:

Keyboard 1 - John Medeski (Medeski, Martin, and Wood)
Keyboard 2 - Chick Corea
Bass - Geddy Lee (Rush) (limited vocals)
Guitar 1 - Trey Anastasio (Phish) (limited vocals)
Guitar 2 - Eric Clapton (vocals)
Guitar 3 - Claudio Sanchez (Coheed & Cambria) - Mostly on Acoustic, Vocals
Drums - Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band)
Percussion - Karl Perazzo (Santana)
Turntables - DJ Logic
Trumpet 1 - Miles Davis
Trumpet 2 - Dizzy Gillespie
Trumpet 3 (some vocals) - Louis Armstrong
Sax 1 - Maceo Parker (James Brown)
Sax 2 - Ornette Coleman
Sax 3 - Branford Marsalis
Trombone - Fred Wesley (James Brown)
Bari Sax - Stephen Krupka (Tower of Power)
Flugelhorn - Chuck Mangione (limited to guest appearances... can only handle so much Chuck)
Vocals - Fiona Apple
Vocals/Harmonica (very limited harmonica) - John Popper (Blues Traveler)
Vocals - Sara McLaughlin

Music Composed by the above as well as Don Ellis and Frank Zappa.

Special appearances by the Harlem Boys Choir have been known to occur.

MM - you would have won the thread AND the internetz for the day had you credited Ron Burgandy with playing the "yazz flute" (or made mention that the "J" was silent).

HahahaHAR! Damn. I am due a re-watch. Stumbling across that group at a festival (playing a version of this) would blow my mind.
