Might as well cast Tom Wanks, Ronny.

That's an easy fear, but that's a LOT of time for an A-lister to be devoting to a project.

Trying to cast Viggo.
Please fuck no! I love me some Viggo, perfect for The Road, but he is wrong for Roland!
He don't have he age, the detail in his face and the darkness and mystery of Roland. Viggo's too nice!
Fan favourite. Shows how fucking dumb and lacking in imagination the fans are. People like you guys!![]()

Let's hope that Ron Howard don't take you guys seriously as well. Internet fans are idiots. Fact.

Roland who will gun down a woman being used as a human shield and then proceed to massacre an entire town of men, women and children. We will not get the guy who lets a young boy plummet to his death so he can continue his quest.
This is not a worthy adversary.
caruso_stalker217 wrote:If there was it wouldn't have taken seven fucking books to get there.

Roland's craggy, Viggo's too clean.

Josh Brolin.

Too young, no?
Retardo_Montalban wrote:Are you guys just saying Brolin, because it rhymes with Roland?

Eric Eisenberg wrote:There are thousands of things fans of The Dark Tower are dying to know about the upcoming series of films, but none are higher priority than the identity of the actor playing the series' main character, Roland Deschain. Since news of the adaptation was announced last April, names have been bandied around, from Viggo Mortensen to Javier Bardem. Well, apparently we'll get our answer this week.
MTV caught up with mega producer Brian Grazer at the Golden Globes on Sunday where he revealed that we'll learn the actor hired for Roland within a week. Because we've been burned before by promises like these, Grazer was pressed for the accuracy of his statement, and he responded, "Seriously. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Seriously." The script for the massive project is currently being written by Akiva Goldsman, and all parts of the franchise, including three films and two television series', will be directed by Ron Howard.
To be honest, I'd be surprised if the man playing Roland Deschain is an A-list name. This project is going to take an incredible commitment from everyone involved, particularly the lead actor, who will be playing Roland through multiple stages of the character's life. At the same time, the studio needs an actor that they can bank on in order to make sure that the high-budgeted concept actually works. Believe us when we say that once this casting is announced, we'll report it right away here on Cinema Blend.

Please no Viggo (50% meant, but a strong 50%).
I was thinking this last night, Viggo is just too nice. He hasn't the dark scary or intimidating presence that Roland has.

3/4s through the last one. Near the end. Don't blow it for me. But by now I do know what Roland looks like.
