Archer

Just wondering what everyone thinks of Archer on FX. I'm a fan, but I loved Sealab and Frisky Dingo, which is what these guys did before this. Anyone watching it? It's nice to see Adult Swim stuff break out of the box.

I've caught bits and pieces of it, but to be honest, once Always Sunny in Philadelphia goes on hiatus, I never go back to the FX channel.

It's nowhere near as good as Firsky Dingo or Sealab but enjoyable.

At ISIS, an international spy agency, global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other. At the center of it all is suave master spy Sterling Archer, whose less-than-masculine code name is "Duchess." Archer works with his domineering mother Malory, who also is his boss. He also has to deal with his ex-girlfriend, Agent Lana Kane and her new boyfriend, ISIS comptroller Cyril Figgis, as well as Malory's lovesick secretary, Cheryl.

I saw the first episode of this...very funny. The animation is a bit cheap but it has moments of comedy gold in it.

It's also got Judy Greer and Jessica Walter (Kitty Sanchez and Lucille Bluth from Arrested Development) so that has to be a fine thing.

Anyone else watching this gem of a show?

Thanks to the tip off from JL a few weeks ago, I've seen them all already. Based on the what I've seen, it's better than Frisky Dingo - which spiralled way out of control. This has a bit more refinement, perhaps due to not being on Adult Swim.

I think it's the voice-work that seals the deal. And the characters seem to be properly thought out.

Lovin' the show. Thought it was just ok, w/ some good bits at first, but it's gotten better. Season 2 has rocked.

Who voices Archer? I know he also does Bob on Bob's Burgers and USED to be the Outrider on Venture Bros.

That would be one H. Jon Benjamin, who's a comedian known mostly for his voice work (video store clerk Carl in Family Guy, Coach McGurk in Home Movies, Ben Katz in Dr. Katz, the talking can of vegetables in Wet Hot American Summer, and the pooping rhino in The Ten)

My fiancée got season 1 on dvd and I have to say I do love the humor of this show. And I will never again hear the words 'veal cutlet' and have the same thought again.

Halfway through the first season and damn this is fucking hilarious, it seems expertly designed to tickle my funny bone. So many great moments already - Hindenburg 2.0, M for Mancy, the whole choking fetish, "this is how we get rats", Fort Kickass, Kreiger snorting MSG off Pam's belly. "Danger Zone".

I giggle when I come across this show on TV, but I can't seem to get into it. I don't seek it out, and its forgettable humor to me. It makes me laugh, but there's just something about it that doesn't hold my interest.

Got done with "Job Offer" last night. Oh man this show is golden "Seriously I must reek of her, here, can you smell her on me" "She's like the Pelé of anal" Archer as chubby kid at boardingschool with the Lacrosse stick. "It's just you and me now Reggie, be a dear and put on some Mingus". I'm actually here at work chuckling away to myself just thinking about it.
