Well, judging from that picture, you have been had.
Not sure what to think of the trailer though. Or the movie for that matter.

Peven wrote:wow, not really the same kind of movies at all. one was a fluff diversion, a teenage pipedream of a flick with as much substance as puffed rice, while this is looks to be a real biting dark comedy that has something REAL to say

He started strong and has gotten stronger each film. I regard his last film, A PROPHET, as a perfect film and a modern masterpiece. I look forward to this. Nipples.

Spandau Belly wrote:Here is the trailer for COSMOPOLIS, the new film from David Cronenberg.
I've never seen Pattinson in a movie and so I don't have an opinion on him, he seems like he's going for a young Christian Bale thing here. Maybe not hitting the mark, but not really missing it too embarassingly.
The funny thing is that this trailer has the bold tagline of proclaiming itself the first film about our new millenium while also looking like it belongs in that wave of pre-millenium 90s sci-fi films like STRANGE DAYS.
They're not all big winners, but Cronenberg has never made a movie I've regretted watching and so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that this movie isn't just another one of those sci-fi flicks with ten minutes of interesting ideas at the beginning and then it quickly switches gears into endless chase scenes as one dude outruns some corrupt fascist state. But really, my interest in seeing this mostly to see Juliette Binoche all trashy.

And I'm posting the AICN article over the YouTube link because the Talkbacks are so fucking venomous - as always, but still an amazing sight to see.

Yeah, looks like two movies crammed together and shot to look like ZODIAC.
But it looks interesting and Affleck's beard is groovy.

Peven wrote:I actually do NOT see the trailer for Argo being all over the place, there are a couple moments that are a little lighter in tone in the beginning of the trailer, and I happen to think they are there to show the surreality of what the situation might have felt like to those involved at the time, but you can find such moments in a lot of otherwise "serious" movies that are not accused of being scattered at all. the vast majority of the trailer has a very serious tone imo. i still see Affleck as better served focusing his energies behind the lens, though, I think he is a much more talented director than actor, no question about it.

Alright, alright, alright!

She received a Golden Globe nomination for her work in Easy A, as well as a ton of praise for her work in The Help. Obviously some people think more of her skills than you.
