It's another track from the soundtrack. It's picking up interest in that it appears to sound like every major superhero movie soundtrack from the past forty years (and even contain a bit of the John Williams Superman theme).

The track is titled "Friend or Foe," so having an actual "hero vibe" wouldn't really make sense.
DC is creating their own style and sensibility with these movies, and utilizing Williams' Superman theme is more of a throwback feel in a way.

no, you just missed the joke/reference entirely, since I had originally commented that the other soundtrack clip uploaded should be played in public restrooms everywhere.

For an "origins"-ish movie that's to be expected. I think this will be a big win for DC. Lord knows they broke the bank marketing this freaking thing.

I've been pretty pessimistic about this movie's prospects, but I had a dream last night that I caught an early screening and it was passably entertaining. So here's to Justice League: passably entertaining.

I saw it and both liked & enjoyed it.

And the rest of the bunch I saw it with felt the same.

The only thing I was disappointed with was the score. It's very lacking.

Ah, sorry. Just realised I misread what you'd written. In that case, I don't think there are any.

There are bits of the the Don't Make Me Ang Lee score which I like.

And some people seem to like Elfman's scores for Raimi movies, but I can't recall them

The Raimi and Burton movies are the ones where I tend to reckongnize Elfmans style after a few moments, but for some reason I react with 'Yay, it's Danny Elfman' when it's a Burton movie and 'Ugh, it's Danny Elfman again  ' if it's a Raimi one.

Everything else is mostly 'What, that was Danny Elfman? :? '

A Darker Justice League Cut Test Screened, Here's What's Missing
BRIAN GALLAGHER wrote:During his new Fatman on Batman podcast, filmmaker and hardcore DC fan Kevin Smith offered fresh details about this darker cut, which had screened before the theatrical cut came. Here's what Kevin Smith had to say, when a fan asked if he thought Warner Bros. would release the Zack Snyder cut on home video.
"There's a petition online with something like 250,000 signatures saying put out the Snyder cut. I think it's ridiculous not to. Sell the version of the movie that people are familiar with theatrically, then wait six months and hit 'em with the Snyder vision. What's the worst that can happen? Everybody goes, 'You f---ed up' and Warner Bros. goes, 'Yeah, I guess' but it's in their rear-view, they're working on something else. It's just another stream of revenue for them. I think they'd be bat-shit crazy, pun intended, for them to not put out Zack's vision, which I read an article about, thank you for bringing it up. It was a breakdown of what's missing from the movie. 'These scenes were done before the reshoots and were shown to WB executives.' This piece comes from Superhero Talk Site and he says the opening was longer, it began with Bruce recruiting Aquaman. It was basically the same scene in the theatrical version, but some scenes were cut. Aquaman was originally much more shut off to Bruce here. Deleted, Barry Allen saving Iris West by breaking the glass. Apparently there's a whole f---ing scene of him saving Iris West. Longer, history lesson, what I was most surprised by is the WB cut out dialogue of scenes with Green Lantern, Zeus and Ares. On the battlefield, when they flash back and s--t, Lantern said something and so did Zeus and so did Ares."

Kevin Smith has recently praised Justice League on another one of his many podcasts, but it's clear the filmmaker would have liked to have seen these scenes in the final cut of the film. He also added that there was another deleted scene with Steppenwolf, where, after he took the Mother Box from Themyscira, he actually talks to the Box. His mother Hegra's essence is alive in the Mother Box and all three combined would give him more power and an edge over his uncle Darkseid. There are other scenes with Victor Stone's (Ray Fisher) early life before being turned into Cyborg. The report also revealed there was a whole scene with Vulko (Willem Dafoe). Another deleted scene is where the whole League visits the Batcave and Alfred (Jeremy Irons) has various reactions to the team. There is also another deleted scene that is reportedly in the middle of the movie, that seemed to anger Kevin Smith quite a bit.
"Deleted, this is in the middle of the f---ing movie, are you ready for this? Deathstroke breaks Lex out of prison. Why the f--k would you cut that out? Oh my God, I question everybody's sanity. They part ways because the cops are hot on their trail, deciding to meet up later at a location they discuss, which was the scene on the f---ing boat."

Let the rumor mill commence: a veteran entertainment reporter who's about to retire has gone full Bulworth, and one of his recent claims is that Zack Snyder was fired from Justice League several months before he officially stepped away from the project.

What have you been watching? (DVD or Films on TV)

Postby Peven on Wed Apr 04, 2018 9:39 pm

finally got around to watching "Justice League"....and it was overall, as a whole, fucking horrible. I liked Suicide Squad much better, in fact. the dialogue is SO bad at times that you can't help but wonder how the hell did anyone think that it was ok and put it in the final cut. the problem isn't that it's cheese, it's that it is artificial cheese flavored food spread. it's like pate from a goose that died of cirrhosis. like fried pork rinds from a pig that died of eczema. like....you get the picture.

Irons mails it in completely as Alfred. i bet he did the shots for his part in a day or two.

Aquaman sucks. his dialogue was some of the worst.

The Flash was the best part.

Superman and Lois were atrocious, it felt as if the Superman storyline was entirely tacked on and those two teenage lovebirds are in their own little world unaffected by the catastrophic events that are unfolding on Earth and in the Universe. also, they both seemed totally uncommitted to their roles, I bet they have given more emotion at script readings before.

if you sifted out all the shit in this movie you'd be left with about 20% of a movie. maybe

1.5 out of 5 :-P s

I watched half this movie this past weekend, got distracted and never went back to it, and honestly may never. Holy crap was this bad. Peven's right, the entire Aquaman part/acting/writing is just beyond bad. I'm beginning to think Jason Mamoa is a really bad actor, who hit the fucking jackpot with a role in Game of Thrones that allowed him to just look buff and badass and just grunt alot. His stand alone movie...if its anything like this, i feel bad for him.

And not for nothing, but who the fuck came up with the name "Mother boxes"????? I know that's a comic thing that I can't blame the movie for, but boy howdy that is one stupid ass name.

Comic book movies have never held much reverence from me. I could take or leave the whole lot of them, but this....this was terrible.

Well, you maniacs finally did it; you got #TheSnyderCut. I can't say it looks any better or worse. The song choice, however, is an absolutely inspired bit of meta-commentary:

Zack Snyder wrote:I did my best, it wasn't much.
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch.
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you.
And even though it all went wrong,
I'll stand before the Lord of Song,
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah.

hhmmm, I can definitely say it looks better to me, and by better I mean better, not brighter and prettier, or costumes looking just the way I think they should look. I don't know why Whedon was brought in the first place, he has shown no ability to direct anything that isn't somewhat tongue-in-cheek or jokey, he had no business playing in the sandbox that Snyder had built. Whedon didn't really respect the movie or material he was given to complete, he didn't take it seriously. I don't think he could make a "straight" movie that did take itself seriously. for something like Buffy or Avengers that can work, even though I despise Buffy it did spawn Angel which is a great show. :-P , but not for the story built by Snyder, not for something that earnest and heartfelt. here is a word the zone used to love, gr@vitas. Whedon doesn't work with it, it isn't in his film vocabulary, to the contrary it is almost as if he works to avoid any real gr@vitas with his work, and Snyder seems to always be going for maximum gr@vitas, to his detriment at times.

the fact that you can't remember your viewing of JL clearly enough to tell if this looks different is much more of a statement about Whedon's movie then it is about the Snyder cut, imo.

I'm pretty sure that WAS the reason Whedon was brought in. WB's settled into a nice groove where the continuity of their cinematic universe is a total mess, but the movies themselves are pretty good. But in the early days each new film seemed like a desperate attempt to course-correct from the last one. Suicide Squad and Justice League were both victims of Batman v. Superman which, rightly or wrongly, was panned for its dourness. So despite the fact that both were already in the middle of production, they were re-shot extensively with the mandate to make them light and fun. What resulted was a weird tonal mish-mash, although Justice League was surprisingly decent if forgettable while Suicide Squad was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

yeah, I am aware that some unimaginative douchey WB execs thought the way to go was to make the DCCU more like the MCU. I guess I should have added, "..if they wanted to make a good movie" to my query about why Whedon would be put on the job.
