Thats very true Tape.

It looks like a straight forward blaster though which is a little dissappointing. I was half expecting a bit of variety and some logical trap usage. It could be good, it could be bad - its too early to tell.

I certainly want them all to reprise their roles - albeit in voice- for this, especially with some lovely tailored lines for Venkmann. If that doesn't happen, it going to leave a bitter after taste.

Looks quite good to me. Might play like shite. I expect it'd be fun using a Wiimote.

Booze Importer Dan Ackroyd is doing mo cap for this new game. I have to admit, the lengths that they are going to, and the unlikely chance of a movie sequel, is getting me more interested in this game.

But what about Ghostbusters 3???????

We WANT the film.

It can't be that hard to get the old gang together and rustle up a decent script. It virtually writes itself.

Never gonna happen - or at least I remember an interview with Bill Murray where he expresses that opinion - It was a while back but I'll try to dredge up the link.

Watched '2' again last week - not good.

Yeah...2 wasn't good but I still felt that love tape.
I still could hold out for a 3....and it would so be a blockbuster!

True on 2 I still watched it until the Statue of Liberty started walking
but as for 3, without Bill Murray, I can't see it happening.

New footage from the upcoming game was linked here:

http://www.gamingshogun.com/Default.aspx?a=514

I have to say, it looks pretty darn good - the destructible environments sell it for me. Oh, watch out for that early footage people are claiming is official. Alot of that is from the early game Zoot was working on and got, well, shut down by Sony. Although, I have to say, that stuff looked amazing too.

Ohhhh, shitty. The links from the mainsite when they had the Zoot story up got removed before I saw them, and I never tracked them down 'til now... What could have been.

Thats what I thought, that footage looked like they had their heads pointed in the right direction. Any time a movie studio gets involved with games, I have a moment of pause.

There's a little more on the AICN mommy site.

(there is more than one Ghostbusters 3 thread, this seemed to be the least worst)

That is so true. With such drastic changes in appearance as they aged, it was almost impossible to hope for a live action movie based on those characters.

A video game is as good a route as any.

I would argue that point.

I LOOVEEE!! Ghostbusters.. It was a crucial part of my childhood.

So where video games, and While I do love a good game, making the thrid in cannon story a playble game just dosnt sound that great.

I'd rather sit a watch the story unfold than have to play hours worth of game to get the story.

I preferd this project as a mo cap film.

MoCap would work. But a game is a nice alternative.

And what about a Ghostbusters comic book? I mean come on, that shit would be gold.

Every time they say they will bring in people for a title it turns out that everything is perfectly executed except for the gameplay. The one part of any game that makes it fun.

The last time anything like this was done well was probably Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Been a long time since a collaboration turned out good.

Thrilled for Ghostbuster fans, but don't get your hopes up.

They should have made it like the original Activision game, which, if I recall correctly, was essentially a fund-management game. Tons of fun.

Talking Proton Packs? Come on, that's not cool at all! It's like... well, look at Mario Sunshine. He is wearing what could arguably be a "ripoff" of a Proton Pack in that one. And it talked. And now the Ghostbusters are gonna follow suit? Blah.

Maybe I should watch the clip before bitching about it...

New footage.

Script by Akroyd and Ramis.

Voice overs by the original cast. Looks promising.

I'm a little worried that it looks like your average FPS at the moment.

I do love the breakable furniture but if every level is like that if could get a little dull.

Stay Puff looks awesome though.

A lot of it really is going to hinge on the dialogue and the interaction with the characters.
